New Business

“Pacifica Community Preservation, Rent Stabilization, and Renters’ Rights Act.”

Kehoe: this would show Club support for policy important to Democrats, feels presentation is very balanced. Fraser: Club needs to discuss the issue; would support letter of general principles. Dye: this is not our community, would prefer to support initiatives on the Coastside; it’s complicated and we don’t understand all the issues. Gerrity: Would be more inclined to support a local measure, would support letter providing general support for affordable housing. Kehoe: Feels that this is an issue basic to the Democratic platform; would like to support affordable housing; Pacifica City Council supports it. General discussion of affordable housing and related issued on the Coastside. Consensus that more information is needed; Kehoe will draft letter supporting affordable housing to Pacifica City Council, Pacifica newspapers, and Democratic groups, to be reviewed at the next meeting.

Increasing Club’s Community Presence – General discussion of club priorities. Consensus that we should publicize events of other groups.
